Well, guess i have to insert a very important chapter of my life into this blog. Hahx..

On 30th Jan 2009, Edmund Tan PASSED his Class 3 Driving Test!!

hahax.. Not bragging or what la.. But its super duper excited that i can passed on my FIRST ATTEMPT!!

Well.. Its a long story just on that day itself, but im sure all my close frens have heard of the story here and there.. But im gonna repeat the whole chapter and keep it here.. Hahx..

My test timing is 11.45am, and i have a warm up session at 10am-11.30am.. Met up with my instructor at Bukit Gombak den after that proceed to BBDC for my circuit training. While on my way there, i try to exit from a small road to a big road, den i couldn't find chance cos many oncoming vehicles from both direction den my instructor also scolded me for that, cos i missed the chance of exiting, with some mistakes.

Den we managed to reached the circuit by 10.10am, den started with the usual training, S-coursed, Cranked Course, Parallel Parking, Vertical Parking, Change Direction and Slopes. Its super scary, cos there is many vehicles training and having test at this time, i'm worried how am i supposed to do the same thing later. While practising, im making many stupid mistake and very blur as complained by Mr Lim(my instructor). Time passed super fast while inside circuit, its 11am le, have to exit the circuit,(there goes my $25), yes, 1 hr of circuit training cost $25.

After exiting, went to practice on the Teck Whye test route, which is a killer route as mentioned by many, cos the traffic there is super heavy as compared with Bukit Batok. I went there practiced, den on the way, i made many mistake again, with a few scenario "Immediate Failure", and that once again proved to me a Taxi Driver are IDIOTS!! They wont give way de, all the more for L-plates driver. They will give you lots of pressure. I try to overtake a taxi which stopped illegally on the road side to pick up passengers, den the taxi from another lane speed up while i changed my vehicles to the other lanes. That is one immediate failure.

After that head to the petrol kiosk beside BBDC, Mr Lim wanted to pump oil, first time i saw him pumped oil though, but i didn't see him pumping la.. Cos have to head over to BBDC for briefing and preparation.

When stepped into the room, my heart really double the pace.. Beating faster den usual. Try to calm down by taking in deep breath, well, it worked a little. Den the tester appear, wah, you cant believe it, your heart beat even faster!! hahax.. Den the briefer(person who conduct briefing), he is good, he managed to make you calm down. He said, don't stressed yourself by thinking of the demerits point, but just focus on 3 things, "Safety, Techniques and Driving". He say if you don't don't well, you didn't fail the test, but failed to adopt good driving habits. After all his words, i really calmed down alot.

After the briefing, the tester started calling testee one by one.

My name is called 5th, i saw the tester, i tried to smile to him, but his face is very stern, den im like thinkin, "Oh No!" He told me my test route is route 1, which is Teck Whye route, im thinkin, "wah, even worst".

We head down to the car and standby for test. I head down the circuit to get the car. I saw the scene in the circuit is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from what i experienced in the morning, the whole circuit is ALMOST EMPTY!! The cars that i encountered in the morning seems to have went for lunch. Hahax. I am like feeling, "HENG AH!!"

I started the engine and off we go. Once i moved off, the vehicle seems to have something wrong le, the vehicle is making very loud and noisy noisy which is totally different from what i have been going through during my practice lesson. The steering wheel also seems to be going against me, abit inobedient, hard to control. The tester started off by asking me do the S-Course den followed by Parallel Parking, den the vehicle make even louder noise, which totally distract me doing the parking and guess what? "BANG! The pole dropped", which caused me 10 demerits point, which i thought its "Immediate Failure", den my tester went down to pick up the pole and checked my vehicle, but didn't realised anything wrong. Lucky another vehicle having test bypass and the tester told my tester, my vehicle leaking oil. I'm thinking, "SHIT! Have to test another time le, means spending about $400++ more." My tester asked me to call my instructor, den i quickly called my instructor den he came over to where I am. The tester asked him to see whether if he could get another vehicle for me. The lady luck seems to be with me on that day, my instructor have a fren which luckily having a student inside the circuit. I switched vehicle, which caused me to have alot of worries, cos all the markings that i learnt in my instructor car, is not the same with the new car that i got.

I continued with the new vehicle, which is quite different from what i usually handle, the gear is not as smooth, and the markings are all different. I tried my best to did all i could. After we did all the other test items, head towards the main road for the test route 1. Surprisingly, the road seems to be very "GAM" with me, the traffic lights la, the road condition ah, everything goes very smoothly. Even normally the U-turn, which always post problems for me, that day, wow.. smoothly cross thru. hahax.. Den after that, head back to centre to get results. I'm thinkin in my mind, most prob fail le, den i go there, many people already there le, im the last to reached back the centre. Everybody who's there started to leave one by one, left me there sitting alone and waiting. Xin qing 7 shang 8 xia.. The tester come back den im like super jin zhang. Den he cut short everything, instead of going through my mistakes first, he said give me the benefits of the doubt and he gave me a PASSED!! So super over the moon la!! hahax..
