WAYS TO HAPPINESS

Do you find your happiness or you create it? If you could create happiness, why let your day suffer in misery?? Saw this article online, found it meaningful and useful, thus, here i am sharing it with you people... Especially those that are ald in the workforce..

12 quick tips for boosting your happiness at work

Of course, being happy at work depends mostly on how much you like your job. But there are also smaller steps that can boost your happiness, as well -- partly by boosting your physical comfort and your productivity.

Some of these steps are VERY small, but the fact that you’re taking steps to improve your situation itself boosts happiness.

1. Check for eyestrain by putting your hand to your forehead in a salute. If your eyes feel relieved, your work space is too bright.

2. Sit up straight with your shoulders down — every time I adjust my sitting position, I instantly feel more energetic and cheerier.

3. Get a phone headset. I resisted for a long time, because it looks so preposterous, but it’s really much more comfortable. Also, it lets me pace while I talk on the phone, which also looks preposterous, but is energizing.

4. Don’t keep candy on your desk. Studies show that people are much more likely to snack when a treat is within easy reach, and a handful of M&Ms each day could mean a weight gain of five pounds by year’s end.

5. Never say “yes” on the phone; instead, say, “I’ll get back to you.” When you’re actually speaking to someone, the desire to be accommodating is very strong, and can lead you to say “yes” without enough consideration. Along the same lines…

6. When deciding whether to say “yes,” imagine that you’re accepting a job that you’ll have to do next week. Don’t agree to something just because it seems so far off that it doesn’t seem onerous.

7. Don’t let yourself get too hungry. My husband goes without eating for hours and hours at a time, so once, trying to be helpful, I bought him a big bag of granola to keep in his desk. He ate the whole bag in one day and ended up sick as a dog. Lesson: eat regularly.

8. Take care of difficult calls, tasks, or emails as quickly as possible. Procrastinating makes them harder; getting them done gives a big boost of relieved energy.

9. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, think hard about how you spend your time. Be honest. How much time do you spend surfing the internet, looking for things you’ve misplaced, or doing a task that’s really someone else’s job? Also…

10. Let yourself stay ignorant of things you don’t need to know.

11. Go outside at least once a day, and if possible, take a walk. The sunlight and activity is good for your focus, mood, and retention of information.

12. Say “Good morning” to everyone. Social contact is cheering, and if you feel that you’re on good terms with all the people in your office, you’ll be happier each day. Also, it’s polite.

I personally find some unrelevant.. Well, firstly, maybe becos i havent been out in full force yet.. LOL.. Still only a part timer... Hahx.. But i really believe in point 12, greeting everyone can really makes your day... Especially when you greet with a smile, and as many of you may know, smile is a very contagious germs.. Imagine receiving so many smiles before you start work, how wonderful could that be?=) I personally do that most of the time.. Cos, i believe, not only you can brighten your own day, you might also brighten other people's day as well.. However, do not take things too personally especially when you are greeted with MR. BAO.. Who is he? You might ask.. He is Mr Bao Qing Tian! The black face... Hahx.. Nvr let this guy ruin your day!! I truly believe in LIFE IS SHORT, one more minute of unhappiness is equivalent to one less min of sadness.. How can?? Of cos, i noe its normal for people to feel angry and agitated, but try try try to keep it to the minimum.. JIAYOU! You know you deserve a happy life!;)

Okay, i noe this is another loh-soh post... hahx..

CATCH UP SESSION

Woohoo~! Met up with a primary school fren, C for dinner today... Well... I must say i enjoyed myself.... It really feels good to catch up with frens whom you havent seen for long... Imagine primary school fren whom you can talk to and about anything under the sky.... The feeling is just sooooo heart-warming!!! Though after Sushi-tei we were like roamers... Roaming here and there aimlessly.... We head to Cine unknowingly, and so qiao, saw KM and KY... Whom KY was my sec sch frens whom i havent met for 4yrs++? and KM was my sec sch classmates whom havent met since we grad until last 2 weeks den chance upon her at Paradiz while chilling with LY and R..

While on my way home, saw sec sch classmate E, whom i havent met since sec grad... OMG!! It just feel so good to see so many of my frens after such a long period.... LOL....

Tues, met up SY gang for LY bday celebration which is a week later.. LOL.. Went for Billy Bombers, and my gang, shared 2 set meals.. LOL.. SY gang says my gang very family... Cos we pratically cut every item into equal shares and split into 4 portion.. Love the feeling... Hahx... After that, some left cos starting work on 1st April, while rest of us continued 2nd round... We went for Paul Blart Mall Cop... Its relatively a nice movie, well... at least i enjoyed and laugh my hearts out... However, sad to see the audience was small in numbers and have low sense of humour... They hardly laugh... R and LY who is sitting beside me, also quite laugh-less.. Which means.......I AM LAUGHING ALONE!!:( Hahx.. But who cares!! I enjoyed myself!! Lol.....
